Academic dress
Below are details of the schemes of academic dress for the award of MBA of Henley Business School, and DBA, PhD and MSc of University of Reading.This information may assist you in avoiding any serious clash of colour in your attire on the day. It is also recommended that you wear a button-through top or shirt and ladies should bring some hairpins. Handbags and mobile telephones etc should be left with guests during the ceremony.
Doctor of Philosophy and Doctor of Business Administration
Crimson gown edged in cream silk. Crimson hood fully lined in cream silk. Black cloth hat of the pattern of the Cambridge Doctor's hat without gold cord.Master of Business Administration
Bottle green gown with outside edge piped in gold. Bottle green hood fully lined in bottle green with gold oak leaf motif and one edge piped in gold. Bottle green square cap of the mortarboard pattern.Master of Science
Black gown. Dark blue hood fully lined in cream. Black square cap of the mortarboard pattern.Collection of robes
Robes will be ready for collection at the Greenlands site on the day of your ceremony from the Institute of Directors Conference Room. Robes can be ordered from Ede & Ravenscroft on their website at www.gownhire.co.uk . Please place your order at least 3 weeks prior to the ceremony and remember to bring your order confirmation with you on the day.Assistance will be given with robing. Hats should be worn during the ceremony at least until you return to your seat after receiving your certificate and may be worn throughout the ceremony if you prefer. Please return your robes to the National Grid lecture theatre as soon as possible after the ceremony.
